Roman Mosaic

Well, there goes the summer of 2012!  I barely saw it!

I have so much to write about but let me just start with these series of photos about a new Roman ruin.  It's such a stunning discovery and the patterns on the mosaic simply make me think of QUILTS!

So, enjoy!

  2. These a so beautiful, and yes, as a quilter I see the possibilities. I have found inspiration in the tiles of North Africa as well as the tile on my doctors floor, lol

    1. Totally agree! I go to a bathroom and the first thing I check out is if there's a great tile pattern! LOL

  3. Wow! I love the Celtic tiles, too, and the stars! The Romans did like to take designs from everyone they conquered (or try to conquer) and make them over, and that includes the Celts, too, it looks like!
